“As you face me in
my throne room, I know
my cause is lost.”
“I still maintain that
my goal was worthy:
the Gate must stay shut.”
"Through arcane knowledge
and heroic deeds
I caused death to fail.”
“No more shall we grieve.
No more shall loved ones
be claimed by cold death.”
Billet and Vilerend told her
their tales of demons fought,
people suffering, dying
all hope becoming fraught.
Though she had defeated death
to end her misery.
Thousands of people had died,
the cost of victory.
She stared at the invaders
no fight did she present.
Defeat darkened her sad eyes
at last! She did repent.
“I have ignored the
torment I unleashed.
I wanted to help.”
“Could this be my Fate?
I cannot bear this
burden on my soul!”
“How could this be Fate?
How could I have done
such a great evil?”
“Now take the Key Sphere.
Set the world aright.
Release the dragon.”
Vilerend and Billet climbed to
the stronghold tower’s roof.
Keeper of Lore was waiting
for them to show her proof.
They unveiled the heavy sphere
they had sought for so long.
They flew back to Shatterbone
to get Hammer from Tong.
