The Demon Plague Verses Chapter 9, Part 1
The dragon, Keeper of Lore,
from Stormcraft departed.
She flew Billet and Vilerend
to whence they had started.
They met with Tong Shatterbone
in his village long hall.
The Hammer of Souls complete:
a pale, beautiful maul.
Tong begged to hear their story
of Stormcraft and their deeds.
Did they put down Fern Quickstream?
Justice for the world’s needs.
They spoke of her repentance.
She sought only to aid.
An end to death was her goal,
that result was waylaid.
She surrendered the Key Sphere
gladly free of its curse.
The Demon Plague must conclude
before it gets much worse.
Guilt and grief, her good deeds turned
foul and catastrophic.
Noble life’s work now undone.
Living World atrophic.
Keeper, Vilerend and Billet
took to the skies once more.
Flight to Fisherspoint Cavern
to reopen death’s door.
They landed near the village,
Fisherspoint, now long dead,
where once they had been enslaved,
it still filled them with dread.
Keeper of Lore shed her form
her dragon guise was gone.
She walked as a human now
where cavern’s mouth did yawn.
Keeper, Vilerend and Billet
walked to the trapped dragon.
Hammer of Souls smote the chains,
freed Soul Slicer gladdened.
