Keeper of Lore

The Unfated Wanderers Canto 11

Tong Shatterbone further explained, “The Equerry Tablet refers to several objects. By Fate or by luck, I already have one of these items in my possession. I can have the other objects created by my artisans.”

He produced a framed painting of a well dressed individual with a hunting crop, which was a length of wood, half white and half black, with an antler mounted to one end, while a leather thong on the other end secured the crop to the individual’s wrist. The black side of the rod was adorned with a white + and the white half was adorned with a black - mark.

“This item will be crafted quickly and with ease,” Tong said while the Wanderers studied the painting, “We are fortunate in that I possess a Pristine Table. I discovered this object in an ancient catacomb, here where this village now sits. I was seeking a place to start a new life when I discovered the catacomb below. This object is clearly a Prophecy. Placed in the catacomb, in years long passed, to be possessed by me until decades later, it is needed. The cunning and foresight of the Children of the Gods is truly unfathomable.”

Tong gestured to an ancient appointment adorning the room, appearing to be two perfectly formed marble cubes, one stacked upon another. Between the cubes was a square plate of gold. The length of a cube edge was two feet. This was the Pristine Table.

Tong said, “The Runes of Path can also be found in my collection of artifacts. These symbols are in a scroll. The scroll never made sense or had any use. I will have copies of the runes made from clay while you locate the remaining items.”
